Top Factors That Put Your At Risk For Cataracts
Phenix City residents, if you are unfamiliar with cataracts and the factors that can increase your risk of getting them, we'd like to offer this refresher.
Cataracts are when the lens of your eye becomes progressively opaque, resulting in blurred vision.
Factors that increase the risk of cataracts:
- Increasing age
- Excessive exposure to sunlight
- High blood pressure
- Previous eye injury or inflammation
- Previous eye surgery
These are just some of the factors that can contribute to cataracts. Many of these factors can be controlled or eliminated, but it's important to take action now and wait until you have a diagnosis.
