Tips For Children's Eye Health This Summer
We're in the thick of summer and while we are finding ourselves at the beach, the lake, or the pool to keep cool, there are some reminders we need to follow to make sure that we are keeping our children safe. Protecting our children's eyes is just as important as sunscreen for their skin, or just about anything else.
Tips For Protecting Your Children's Eyes
- Wear goggles - Whatever your preference to beat the heat and stay cool, your children should wear goggles. Chlorine and chemicals can leave your children's eyes open to infection. Natural bodies of water could have bacteria that can cause infection.
- Wash your children's hands - Bacteria is increased with the heat and if your children are outdoors they are likely to come in contact with bacteria or germs and if they rub their eyes, they could cause an infection.
- Wear sunglasses - If your children are outside for any length of time, they need to be wearing sunglasses to protect their eyes from damage.
These are just a few of the common tips to keep your children safe this summer.
