An article in an Australian newspaper warned of the potential for short-sightedness in children from the increased exposure to electronic screens.

Based on a recent study, it says that as more and more children are staying inside to spend more and more time in front of a screen. The consequence is an increase in myopia in children.

The co-author of the study, Wei Wang, said that being outdoors in natural light plays a vital role in your children's eye health. The brightness and the long distance are importance as well as not keeping your concentration on one thing.

Obviously being outdoors and being active is an important part of a child's development, but it also plays a critical role in their eye health. And while today's technology offers immense educational value, moderation is key.
