Google Working With UK Startup DeepMind On Eye Diseases

Google DeepMind Eye Disease Scan

Google, which acquired UK startup DeepMind in 2014, is partnering with the UK's National Health Service to use the DeepMind technology to create a system where sight-threatening eye conditions can be diagnosed from just a single scan of the eye.

Google will investigate how DeepMind's technology can be taught to analyze scans for two diseases, diabetic  retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.

It will be exciting to see what Google can come up with to advance the medical field. We believe it will only be a matter of time before technology like this will be common place.
