Lutein in kale healthiest for your eyes

A recent study by the American Optometric Association showed that 48% of Americans believe that carrots were the healthiest food for your eyes. In fact, most optometrists believe that leafy greens, like kale, collards and spinach, are better for your eyes than carrots.

The lutein that is present in leafy greens, specifically kale and spinach are better for your eyes. Carrots are a great source for Vitamin A and help your eyes, but lutein is showing to be more helpful. Of course, a balanced diet and regular checkups are important as well.
