Baby Boomers Maintaining Eye Health
Baby boomers, those born between 1946-1964, are somehow beating the statistics when it comes to eye health in ways there parents did not according to a recent article
. They are experiencing better retinal health and it may be due to healthier lifestyles and doctors and scientists are welcoming the news.
According to researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison their study revealed that over the length of the study the overall population beat age-related macular degeneration, the leading risk to eye health in older Americans, by nine times the average of those born between 1901-1924. Researchers said that overall, each generation was 60% less likely to develop AMD than the previous generation.
