Phenix City Contact Lens Wearers: Contact Lenses Can Change the Bacteria In Your Eye

A study released recently shows that contact lenses can alter the bacteria in your eyes. Results have shown that since the introduction of soft contact lenses, there has been an increase in corneal ulcers. That increase can be attributed to a bacteria found in a more abundantly in the eyes of contact lens wearers with corneal ulcers.

The correlation to this bacteria found with contact lens wearers and corneal ulcers should not make you stop wearing contact lenses. Millions of Americans wear contact lenses and a majority do not experience any symptoms, but what this does stress is making sure that your contact lens hygiene is taken seriously.
