Blue Light A Concern With Electronics
We've talked about digital eye strain in the past and a recent article on health.com has drawn to light a new concern with spending too much time in and around electronic devices.
Blue light, which is the high energy, short wave-length light, is emitted from electronic devices and it passes straight through the cornea to the back of the eye. Scientists and doctors are concerned that over time, this high level of light could have serious, long-term, health effects on our eyes. Unfortunately, at this time there is insufficient real life data to back this up, as electronics have burst on the scene in the last 15-20 years.
If you spend a lot of time in front of electronics, the best practice is to build in frequent breaks from looking at a screen. You can find more tips on combating digital eye strain here
